Troubleshooting Tips

No Electricity:

  1. It could be a circuit breaker – please check the power box to see if any switches have flicked off and see if you can flick them back on. Sometimes there is more than one power box. Check to see if there is a second one in a kitchen cupboard or somewhere similar.
  2. If that’s not the issue, it could be a larger problem. Head to https://www.essentialenergy.com.au/outages-and-faults/power-outages to see if there’s a power outage near you. If there is an outage in the area then Essential Energy will be onto it and should fix it up within a few hours.
  3. If you’re still not sure of the problem or can’t fix it, please contact us!

Heater/Split System Not Working:

  1. Make sure the icon on the system/remote is a sun for heating or snowflake for cooling.
  2. Ensure the temperature is set to 21 degrees. If it is set too high, the heater may revert to a defrost mode and may take longer to heat.
  3. Give that about 30 minutes and if it is still not working then let us know.

TV Not Working:

If you cannot get free to air channels

  • Please locate the ‘Channel Scan’ in the TV settings. This will search for all free to air channels. From time to time the TV may need re-scanning for the free to air channels to show.

If the TV won’t connect to wi-fi

  • Please check the ‘Network Setting’ on the TV to ensure it is connect to wi-fi. If not connect to the wi-fi using the wi-fi details located in the welcome book.

No Hot Water:

  1. Try running the hot water for a couple of minutes to see if it is just taking a while to heat up.
  2. Check the power box to make sure a circuit hasn’t flicked off. If so, please flick it back on.
  3. If it is a gas water heater, try to see if the pilot light is lit. Don’t try to relight, just let us know so we can let the tradesperson know.
  4. If it still not working please contact us.

Internet Not Working:

Check the Wi-Fi details in the front of the Welcome Book and ensure you are connecting to the right network and entering the correct password.

  1. Make sure all cords are plugged in and the power is ON.
  2. Disconnect and reconnect your device to see if this helps.
  3. Try restarting the modem by either a) turning it off at the power point for a couple of minutes and then restarting or b) on the back of the modem, you will see a very small reset button. Using a pin, push this in for 15seconds and all of the lights should flash. Then try to reconnect.
  4. If this doesn’t work, let us know so we can explore the next steps to getting this fixed for you.
